What network does autonity belong to?

Does autonity belong to a layer one network similar to Ethereum or a layer two network? Or relatively independent?

Can someone give me some science popularization?

Sorry, I am a newcomer and I am currently learning to become a community builder

Autonity operates as a Layer 1 blockchain protocol, similar to Ethereum. Functioning as a foundational layer, it utilizes an EVM-based approach for decentralized markets. Employing delegated Proof of Stake (PoS) through the Tendermint consensus algorithm, Autonity is a public and permissionless network. With native coins for settlement and staking, Autonity adopts a liquid staking model. Essentially, Autonity stands as an independent blockchain protocol, not falling within the category of Layer 2 networks, and is driven by its core technology, the Autonity Go Client (AGC), a fork of Go Ethereum.
